Emergency Maintenance: Januscape (CVE-2026-53359) Security Update

A critical Linux kernel vulnerability, CVE-2026-53359 (publicly known as "Januscape"), has recently been disclosed. This vulnerability affects virtualization platforms and requires immediate action to help protect both our infrastructure and customer VPS instances.

To address this issue, we are deploying the latest security patches across all Host4Fun virtualization nodes. As part of the update process, the affected host nodes must be rebooted after the patches are installed. If your VPS is hosted on one of these nodes, you may experience a temporary interruption in service during the maintenance.

Maintenance is being carried out in phases across all of our locations. The expected downtime for each affected node is approximately 5 to 30 minutes, although many nodes will be back online sooner.

We sincerely apologize that we were unable to provide advance notice or send an email before this maintenance began. Due to the critical nature of this vulnerability and the immediate security risk it presents, it was necessary to begin patching our infrastructure as quickly as possible rather than delay the updates.

We understand that unexpected maintenance can be inconvenient, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Applying these security updates promptly is essential to ensuring the continued security, stability, and reliability of our platform.

Customers using custom network configurations may need to update their network settings after the maintenance (By connecting VPS over VNC). If your VPS uses the default Host4Fun network configuration, no changes are required. If you have configured custom networking (including static routes or custom gateways) and experience connectivity issues, please review your network configuration.

If your VPS remains unavailable for an extended period after the maintenance has been completed, please open a support ticket and our technical team will investigate promptly.
